CEATEC 2008: A cute little robot, Pleo

Posted by: brb In: CEATEC 2008| Tech ()

In one of the medium-sized booths in CEATEC, I found this lovable mechanical wonder. Pleo is a little dinosaur that can move and interact with his surroundings through an extensive network of sensors around his body.

Inside Pleo’s colorful coat is a dense connection of sensors, speakers, microphones and camera, which aid in giving this dino-robot a wide variety of movement and expressions.

Pleo surrounded by fans.

Pleo wiggles his tail and moves his head whenever people come near.

Pleo apparently likes being stroked on the back of his head and upper throat, like a cat.

I am the proud and delighted owner of two Pleos, Linus & Schroeder. They are great companionship and best antidepressant. Try not to laugh or giggle or say “awwww” when they nudge your hand to be pet. So glad you found him to be wonderful too!

Thanks for dropping by! Yes, these little dino-robots are adorable. I’m surprised at how responsive they are to human touch. I might get one myself, too. ^_^;;
