Stainless steel and titanium Evangelion figure

Posted by: brb In: Japan| Manga & Anime ()

Ohta Industries, in order to show off their metal-bending laser technology, has been building a 1-meter Evangelion Unit 00 figure made from stainless steel scrap metal and titanium. Gigazine went to their factory in in Hyogo Prefecture in central Japan and took photos of the metallic robot figure.

The purple eye and other colored parts of the head are made of titanium. The whole figure took around 180 parts to construct from stainless steel sheets.

Although this Eva is not for sale, Gigazine says one will cost more than 1,000,000 yen ($10,300) if it were sold on the market.

It will be displayed in LalaPort Tokyo-Bay in Shinagawa, Tokyo from June 26 to July 5.

Evangelion vs Gundam

Anime fans have been asking this age-old question: Who would win in a fight between a Gundam and an Evangelion? It has become a more pressing question now that the 30th anniversary Gundam itself is so close to completion.

All other things being equal, it’s prudent to say that the 18-meter Giant Gundam would easily trample this 1-meter Evangelion in a fair fight. 1-0 for Gundam, at least for now.
